How are Your Manners?

good mannersAre you courteous are you? Do you always say please and thank you? Are you friendly and open with others? Do you say excuse me when leaving the table or room?

Good Morning All! Today I want to talk to you about your manners. Sometimes I think good manners along with modesty are dying words and actions. I’ve noticed in the young people I’m around from children to early twenties, they just don’t seem to have the good manners I see in the adults I also keep company with from day to day.

Why is this? Are they not being taught how to act? Do there parents and peers not know how to conduct themselves in society?

If you think your children will learn good manners at school, you are mistaken.

If you think your children will learn good manners at church, again your wrong.

They should but lets face it they hardly ever listen in social situations.It’s up to us the parents to teach them how to behave. I have small children and grown children and I can tell you I’ve seen them display the worst of me and the best of me. What do I mean by that? My children imitate what I do more than they obey what I say.  I’m sad to say there have been times they have seen me act pretty inappropriately. Most of the time I do strive to show them how to behave but my flesh has gotten the better of me more times than I care to admit.

So, in saying that I want to encourage you to take the time to teach your sweet innocent children how to act and behave. Use your KJV bible to show them the way to a Godly manner. Here are some verses to chew on:

Luke 6:31 – And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.
1 Corinthians 15:33 – Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.
1 Peter 3:8 – Finally, [be ye] all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, [be] pitiful, [be] courteous:

Romans 12:10 – [Be] kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;
Ephesians 4:29 – Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
1 Corinthians 13:4-5 – Charity suffereth long, [and] is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,   (Read More…)
Matthew 15:11 – Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.
Titus 3:2 – To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, [but] gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 – What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost [which is] in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?   (Read More…)
1 Corinthians 10:27 – If any of them that believe not bid you [to a feast], and ye be disposed to go; whatsoever is set before you, eat, asking no question for conscience sake.
